Minister for European Affairs Terho met Brexit minister Joyce Anelay

Minister for European Affairs Terho met UK minister Joyce Anelay, member of the House of Lords, in Helsinki on Tuesday 3 October. Besides her visit to Finland, minister Anelay will also be visiting Sweden and Lithuania.

Minister Anelay and Minister Terho represent their respective governments in the General Affairs Council. Minister Anelay conveyed UK views on its departure from the EU.

The Commission is conducting negotiations on the Brexit negotiations with the United Kingdom headed by Michel Barnier, Chief Negotiator of the EU. The EU will assess progress in the negotiations again in the next European Council meeting on 19 and 20 October.
