Ministerial changes in Sipilä's Government

On Wednesday 22 June, the President of the Republic appointed Minister of the Interior Petteri Orpo as Minister of Finance, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Paula Risikko as Minister of the Interior, and Member of Parliament Kai Mykkänen as Minister for Foreign Trade and Development.

In the same context, the President of the Republic released Minister of Finance Alexander Stubb, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Lenita Toivakka, and Minister of the Interior Petteri Orpo from their duties.

In the government plenary session on 22 June, decisions were made on the division of the Ministers' responsibilities, ministerial deputies and the composition of ministerial committees. At the beginning of the session, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Kai Mykkänen took an oath of office and a judicial oath.

State Secretary Olli-Pekka Heinonen was appointed to continue as State Secretary to the National Coalition Party’s group of ministers.
