Prime Minister Juha Sipilä to Tallinn

Prime Minister Juha Sipilä will conduct a working visit to Estonia on Saturday, 10 June, when Tallinn is organising a Finnish Day to celebrate the centenary of Finland’s independence. During the day, Prime Minister Sipilä will have a discussion with Estonia’s Prime Minister Jüri Ratas. In connection with the Finland 100 celebrations, the Prime Ministers of Finland and Estonia will also lead their teams in a football match and participate in a large public concert.

Among other things, the Prime Ministers will discuss the bilateral relations and co-operation between the two countries especially in the fields of information technology, transport and energy. In addition, the topics will include current EU affairs and international issues. Prime Minister Sipilä and Prime Minister Ratas will also visit a seminar of Finnish and Estonian companies.

The football teams led by the Prime Ministers will take part in the Suomi – Eesti 100+ Challenge that is aimed at experiencing more than 100 football, futsal and beach soccer matches in the football fields of Southern Finland and Estonia. The matches are one of the many Finland 100 events. Estonia will be celebrating its 100 years of independence next year. The match between the Prime Minister’s Offices of Finland and Estonia will kick off at 13.30 at Snell Stadium (Toompuiestee 24) and is open to public. 

Prime Minister Sipilä, who is the chair of the Finland 100 delegation, and Prime Minister Ratas will also attend the Finland 100 celebration concert beginning at the Freedom Square at 18.00, and will express their thanks at the end of the concert. Finnish and Estonian pop and rock musicians will be performing in the concert produced by the Finnish Institute in Estonia. The free concert is the main event of the Finland 100 celebrations in Estonia.
