Board of Directors appointed for the Development Company for Digitalisation in Health and Social Services

In an extraordinary general meeting on 3 October 2017, the Development Company for Digitalisation in Health and Social Services (SoteDigi Oy), which is a subsidiary established by the State Business Development Company (Vake Oy), appointed a Board of Directors for the company. The chair of the Board will be Director Hannu Leskinen of Oulu university hospital and the members are Tapio Niskanen, senior partner and consultant, and Siv Schalin, Master of Science (Economics and Business Administration). The Chair’s remuneration amounts to EUR 2,500 per month and that of the members to EUR 1,250 per month. The attendance fee is EUR 500.

SoteDigi was established this autumn to develop national client and patient information systems and other digital solutions in health and social services.

The company’s shares will be transferred directly to state ownership and the Ministry of Finance will have control of shares and be responsible for ownership steering by the end of the year. 

The Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, together with the Ownership Steering Department of the Prime Minister's Office and VAKE, were in charge of establishing the company as part of the implementation of the health and social services reform.
