Team Finland

The Team Finland network promotes Finland and its interests abroad: helps companies in internationalisation, attracts foreign investment in Finland, and promotes the country’s image. The network brings together key players of these areas at home and abroad and the services that they offer.

Team Finland's goals include the ideas that publicly funded services and functions must be clear, various organisations' work does not overlap and Finland communicates its strengths coherently.

Team Finland network – who are they?

At the heart of the Team Finland network are three Ministries - the Ministry of Employment and the Economy, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Culture - together with publicly funded bodies and Finnish offices abroad (including diplomatic missions, the offices of Finpro and Tekes, and national culture and science institutes), all operating under the ministries' guidance.

The Team Finland network has more than 80 local teams across the world. They bring together the Finnish authorities of an area, publicly funded organisations and other key parties with ties to Finland. The local teams represented by various organisations work in cooperation to serve, for example, corporate customers so that all necessary information is available in the same place.

The actors of the network work closely together with non-governmental actors such as interest groups, NGOs, chambers of commerce and businesses.

Who steers the operations?

The network's strategic priorities are set by the Steering Group for Finland's External Economic Relations, chaired by Prime Minister Juha Sipilä.

The network is coordinated by the Prime Minister’s Office. The Government External Economic Relations Unit serves as the project secretariat, assists the Prime Minister and the Steering Group in the setting up of the strategic priorities, and directs their implementation within the Team Finland network.
