Minister Lintilä to France and Switzerland

Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä will visit Paris in France, and Bern and Zürich in Switzerland from 8 to 10 November. The aims of the visit are to enhance and develop Finland’s bilateral relations with both France and Switzerland and to look for opportunities for cooperation in the area of artificial intelligence.

In France, Minister Lintilä will meet Mounir Mahjoubi, Secretary of State responsible for digital affairs The topics of their discussions will focus on ways to advance cooperation in the area of artificial intelligence between France and Finland. Additionally, the Minister will hold discussions on topical economic matters with representatives of the OECD.

In Switzerland, Minister Lintilä will meet Economics Minister Johann Schneider-Ammann and Mauro Dell'Ambrogio, State Secretary for Education, Research and Innovation, and Head of the International Affairs Division. They will discuss, among other things, digitalisation and health technology.

Minister Lintilä will also hold a keynote speech at a Finland 100 gala dinner, held in Zürich.

Artificial intelligence is one of the key projects of the Finnish Government. The Steering Group to prepare the artificial intelligence programme, set up by Minister Lintilä, published its interim report on 23 October. The Government’s aim is that Finland will be a leader in the application of artificial intelligence.
