Nordic and Baltic prime ministers to meet in Denmark

The prime ministers of the Nordic and Baltic countries will meet at Marienborg on Tuesday 30 August. Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Fredriksen has also invited the German and Polish leaders, the President of the European Commission and the energy ministers of the participating countries to the meeting. Prime Minister Sanna Marin will attend the meeting.

The leaders of the Baltic Sea states will discuss ways to quickly replace Russian fossil energy, especially with renewable energy. They will focus on increasing the wind energy capacity, building energy transmission lines and intensifying cooperation to strengthen the energy security of the Baltic Sea region. Energy issues will be on the agenda of the European Council’s meetings in the autumn.
