Minister Tuppurainen to visit the Western Balkans

Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering Tytti Tuppurainen will visit Kosovo, North Macedonia and Albania on 3–5 July. The purpose of the visit is to discuss ways to accelerate the EU integration of the countries of the Western Balkans and the security situation in Europe. Minister Tuppurainen will visit the region together with Thomas Byrne, Ireland’s Minister of State for European Affairs.

The programme for Monday 4 July includes meetings with Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti and First Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. On 4 July, the Ministers will also meet with North Macedonia’s President Stevo Pendarovski and Deputy Prime Minister Bojan Marichic in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.

On Tuesday 5 July, the Ministers will have discussions with Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama and Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Olta Xhaçka in Tirana, the capital of Albania.
