Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia in charge of European Affairs Bujar Osmani will visit Finland on 15 August 2019. During the visit he will meet Minister for European Affairs Tytti Tuppurainen and Minister for Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto. The main topic for the visit is North Macedonia’s EU integration process.

Last year North Macedonia and Greece reached an agreement on the nearly 30-year dispute over the name of the country. The EU Member States are to decide in October whether accession negotiations will be opened with North Macedonia and Albania. The ministers will also discuss other topical issues, including Finland’s Presidency of the Council of the EU and the situation in the West Balkan region.
