Prime Minister Marin to speak with several EU leaders

On Tuesday 4 October, Prime Minister Sanna Marin will attend a video meeting with the President of the European Council and the leaders of three other EU Member States.

The meeting is in preparation for the first meeting of the European Political Community on Thursday 6 October and for the informal meeting of the members of the European Council on Friday 7 October, both of which will take place in Prague, Czech Republic. The aim of the European Political Community is to provide a policy coordination platform for countries across the European continent. The members of the European Council and representatives of 17 European countries outside the EU have been invited to attend the meeting. The topics on the agenda for the meeting of the members of the European Council on Friday will be Ukraine, energy and economic issues.

Today’s small group session, convened by President of the European Council Charles Michel, will also be attended by the heads of state or government of Romania, Portugal and Luxembourg. President Michel is organising similar sessions for other groups of countries.
