European Commissioner Oettinger to visit Helsinki
Commissioner Günther Oettinger, responsible for the EU Budget and Human Resources, will be visiting Finland on Thursday 26 April. Commissioner Oettinger will hold discussions with Minister for European Affairs, Culture and Sport Sampo Terho on the forthcoming multiannual financial framework of the EU. During his visit, Oettinger will also meet Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Jari Leppä, Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä and members of the parliamentary Grand Committee, Finance Committee, Audit Committee, and Commerce Committee.
The proposal of the European Commission for the new multiannual financial framework is due to be published on 2 May and the General Affairs Council will deliberate the framework in its meeting on 14 May. The new financial framework covers the period from 2021 to 2027.
Minister Terho and Commissioner Oettinger will hold a brief press conference at the end of their meeting, which will be streamed live starting around 12.25 on vn.fi/live
