Minister for European Affairs Tytti Tuppurainen and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Albinas Zananavičius will meet in Helsinki on Tuesday 12 November. Minister Tuppurainen and Vice-Minister Zananavičius are colleagues at the EU’s General Affairs Council. Besides the multiannual financial framework (MFF) for 2021–2027, the main topics discussed at the Council during the Finnish Presidency have been the rule of law and EU enlargement.

The aim for Finland is to finalise the draft agreement on the multiannual financial framework, i.e. the negotiation box with figures, during its Presidency so that the European Council could decide on the next framework as soon as possible. The Finnish Presidency has also promoted a comprehensive dialogue on the rule of law.

As part of the preparations for the December European Council, the ministers will also discuss climate action.
