During the summer, the Government of Prime Minister Antti Rinne will take a tour around the country to talk about the Government Programme with the people. Tens of libraries in different parts of the country will serve as venues for these meetings.

The aim is to tell about the key objectives of the Government and get feedback on the programme.

“The Government Programme was published directly to the people of Finland at Helsinki Central Library Oodi, in the middle of where people gather and at the gateway to learning and culture. We want to continue the dialogue with our citizens by visiting different Finnish libraries. Besides being a cornerstone of Finnish education and culture, libraries are a meeting place for everyone in society. One important principle we have in Finland is also closely connected to libraries: whatever we borrow, we must return in good condition”, Prime Minister Rinne says.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto and Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services Krista Kiuru started the tour in Pori on 15 June. This week Minister of Local Government and Ownership Steering Sirpa Paatero will visit Varkaus, and Minister of the Interior Maria Ohisalo will meet people at the Itäkeskus Library in Helsinki on Wednesday 26 June. On Friday 28 June, Minister of the Environment and Climate Krista Mikkonen will visit Kouvola.

On Monday 1 July, Minister of Economic Affairs Katri Kulmuni and Minister of Employment Timo Harakka will meet people at the Kontula Library in Helsinki, and on Tuesday 2 July Prime Minister Antti Rinne will visit the Sello Library in Espoo.
