Leijona Catering continues to cater for the Defence Forces

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Policy has decided on the market position of Leijona Catering Oy. There will be no competitive tendering concerning catering services for the Defence Forces. Leijona Catering continues as the provider of catering services for the Defence Forces in accordance with the strategic interest specified for the company. The company will withdraw from the provision of catering services for the private sector in accordance with the plan to be prepared. For the most part the withdrawal will take place during 2017, and upon the expiry of the current contracts at the latest.

The position of Leijona Catering as an inhouse operator with regard to central government customers outside the Defence Forces is to be restricted to certain organisations critical in terms of security issues to be designated separately. The company will respect the current inhouse contracts until the end of the contract periods. Leijona Catering participates in the ongoing competitive tendering of Hansel concerning a framework arrangement for catering services. Through the framework arrangement and / or separate tendering procedures Leijona Catering could offer its services to customers using the framework arrangement or to separate central government tendering procedures.
