Prime Minister Antti Rinne and the Prime Minister of Estonia Jüri Ratas will meet in Tallinn on Friday 14 June. This is the first foreign visit of Antti Rinne’s term as Prime Minister. Prime Minister Ratas congratulated Antti Rinne on the appointment of the new Government already last week, and the two Prime Ministers agreed that they should meet very soon.

The topics to be discussed include bilateral relations between the two countries, protection of the Baltic Sea and deeper regional cooperation. Also on the agenda are European security issues and other topical EU affairs, including Finland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which will start on 1 July.

In view of the fact that Estonia has just been elected to the UN Security Council for the period 2020–2021, the two Prime Ministers will also talk about ways to strengthen the rule-based multilateral system.
