Six Ministerial Working Groups in the Rinne Government

At its plenary session on Thursday, 4 July, the Government appointed ministerial working groups of the Prime Minister Rinne's Government. Strategic ministerial working groups were appointed for promoting employment, for climate and energy policy and for the restructuring of health and social services. A ministerial working group on competence, education, culture and innovation as well as on child and youth policy and on internal security and strengthening the rule of law were also appointed.

Compositions of the Ministerial Working Groups

The Ministerial Working Group on Promoting Employment will guide and direct the implementation of the Government Programme in the following areas: employment promotion, labour market issues and employment legislation.

The Ministerial Working Group on Climate and Energy Policy will guide and direct the implementation of the Government Programme in the following areas, taking into account social justice and global competitiveness: goal of carbon neutrality, strengthening of carbon sinks, and decision-making on climate and energy policy.

The Ministerial Working Group on Health and Social Services will guide and direct the restructuring of health and social services referred to in the Government Programme, in the manner specified in section 3.6.1 of the Programme.

The Ministerial Working Group on Internal Security and Strengthening the Rule of Law will discuss matters relating to the development of judicial administration, prevention of exclusion, prevention of over-indebtedness, and realisation of fundamental rights. It will also discuss matters of internal security and asylum and refugee policy.

When necessary, State Secretaries may represent the Ministers in the meetings.

Special Advisers to the Ministers have the right to attend the meetings, but they cannot present the Ministers.
