Prime Minister Sipilä to attend India-Nordic summit in Stockholm

Prime Minister Juha Sipilä will attend the Nordic and Indian prime ministers’ summit to be held in Stockholm on Tuesday 17 April. Prime Minister Sipilä will also hold bilateral talks with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Besides global issues, the summit agenda will also focus on the development of economic relations between the Nordic countries and India. Fostering trade and investment will also be a key theme of the bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Sipilä and Prime Minister Modi. 

The two prime ministers met in February 2016 in Mumbai in conjunction with the Team Finland trade mission to India. Opportunities for cooperation between the two countries exist in areas such as solar energy, other renewable energy sources, sustainable urban development, the circular economy, education and information technology.
