Maritime policy means cooperation and long-term benefits

The aim of Finland’s maritime policy is to create conditions for a sustainable growth of maritime sectors, improving the level of protection of the marine environment, and enhancing the cooperation and impact of actions by public authorities in maritime affairs. To achieve this, work is done on active development and cooperation in the control and protection of marine areas, maritime spatial planning, use and monitoring of knowledge, and competence building on the maritime cluster.

The development of the national maritime policy is the responsibility of the steering group for the Baltic Sea and Integrated Maritime Policy.
